Hi, I'm Paul.

I’ve spent my life making things. This extended into my career were I started as a software engineer, building products across a wide variety of industries. Over time I found myself increasingly drawn to the problems being solved rather than the underlying technology.

I’ve always had a strong connection to art and design—experimenting with illustration and printmaking, as well as travelling, exploring galleries, and seeking out street art and architecture. That curiosity led me to study Graphic Design at Shillington, which gave me the skills and confidence to freelance in identity design for small businesses. From there, I joined Console Connect as one of the founding members of the design team. Over the past decade, I’ve helped design and grow the Console Connect platform from the ground up. For the last four years, I’ve led and grown an international design organisation spanning Brisbane, London, and the Netherlands.

Outside of work, I’m mostly trying to keep up with raising three young kids. When I do find spare time, you’ll find me reading, adding to a LEGO collection faster than I can build it, attempting to surf, or trying to perfect pizza in the backyard oven.

The rest of this page covers the more conventional bits — where I’ve worked, what I’ve studied, and the tools I use day to day.

Summary

Currently leading Product Design & User Research for a global, distributed team reimagining how enterprises design, provision, and manage network connectivity through a B2B SaaS automation platform.

My role spans product strategy, team development, design operations, and cross-functional alignment across product and engineering.

I led the growth of the design team from five to twelve people and established core Design Ops capabilities across research, data analysis, and design systems, enabling greater consistency, autonomy, and scalability across the function.

Alongside leadership responsibilities, I continue to contribute as a hands-on designer, working directly on critical product areas, prototyping, and solving high-impact UX problems.
